It’s something we’re all quite proud of, and we’re planning a few different ways to celebrate over the next 12 months... and as the first part of these celebrations we’re delighted to share that our new and improved showroom is open from Monday the 20th July!

At Cumbrian Stone we do far more than just cut and supply stone for our customers... did you know that all of our high quality natural stones are fully tested by an independent accredited laboratory, and that we then check and monitor the ongoing performance of each of our stones in our in-house lab so that we can guarantee that the performance of our materials remains consistent with the accredited results we declare to architects and specifiers.
As standard, we carry out over 300 individual tests on samples taken from our production line every month, including checks for density, porosity, water absorption, slip resistance, compressive strength and exposure to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold).
We also carry out a careful analysis of each sample we take, quite literally "putting our products under the microscope", to ensure the mineral composition hasn`t changed significantly over the years, as this can have a big impact on the material performance.
