As part of our 20th Anniversary celebrations, we’re opening our gates to our customers, suppliers, friends, family and the local community to join the Cumbrian Stone team for an afternoon of entertainment at our showroom and factory on Gilwilly Industrial Estate in Penrith. This is our way of saying thank you for your support over the years, and we really hope that you are able to join us for what is sure to be a fun and memorable afternoon.
Gates open at 2pm on Saturday the 26th September, and we hope to see you there.

As part of our 20th Anniversary celebrations, we’re opening our gates to our customers, suppliers, friends, family and the local community to join the Cumbrian Stone team for an afternoon of entertainment at our showroom and factory on Gilwilly Industrial Estate in Penrith. At Cumbrian Stone we do far more than just cut and supply stone for our customers... did you know that all of our high quality natural stones are fully tested by an independent accredited laboratory, and that we then check and monitor the ongoing performance of each of our stones in our in-house lab so that we can guarantee that the performance of our materials remains consistent with the accredited results we declare to architects and specifiers.
As standard, we carry out over 300 individual tests on samples taken from our production line every month, including checks for density, porosity, water absorption, slip resistance, compressive strength and exposure to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold).
We also carry out a careful analysis of each sample we take, quite literally "putting our products under the microscope", to ensure the mineral composition hasn`t changed significantly over the years, as this can have a big impact on the material performance.
