McMillan Hall dates back to 1884 and is a traditional French Renaissance 2-storey symmetrical hall. It boasts features such as a 5-bay elevation to Dashwood Square and a 4-bay return elevation to Queen Street, along with polished ashlar sandstone and carved features throughout. The main entrance at centre of Dashwood Square elevation boasts an ornate door surround with a consoled pediment.
Due to significant levels of lamination and deterioration several of the carved features were removed and reinstated with new replica carvings made using details available from the existing stonework. Attention to detail was of the upmost importance due to the building being Category B listed, and a suitable stone had to be carefully sourced to match the existing fabric of the building.
