Cumbrian Stone were appointed as the preferred stone supplier to the development of Saracen House, Glasgow. Working alongside the project managers, CRGP, Cumbrian Stone supplied a large amount of sandstone for use in the regeneration of the 4.5-acre site in the Possilpark area of Glasgow. The brownfield site had been derelict and vacant for over 20 years.
The project involved Master planning of the site in partnership with NHS, North Glasgow Homes, Jobs and Business Glasgow and Glasgow City Council.
Saracen House, a high quality managed business centre, forms the central element of the masterplan, and provides 10,000 square feet of high specification class 4 office accommodation, together with conference and training suites for use/hire by local community groups, social enterprises and businesses. The £3M project received funding from European Regional Development Fund, Glasgow City Council, North Glasgow Homes and Jobs and Business Glasgow.
Glasgow City Council Leader, Councillor Gordon Matheson, formally opened Saracen House on 3rd June 2014.
